PrivateID
PrivateID® from Iridian Technologies is an image processing protocol and data standard that enables a Proof Positive-certified iris camera to capture an image, process it and prepare it for transport in the most secure way possible. Iris recognition is the most accurate, non-invasive and easy to use biometric for secure identification. PrivateID is state-of-the-art software that drives complete interoperability among certified iris cameras. Any Private ID-enabled camera is interoperable with any other PrivateID-enabled camera.

Camera Interoperability
Three access scenarios summarize the general categories for iris recognition cameras:

• Desktop: cameras generally used for information security applications
• Walk-up: cameras generally used for restricted access applications
• Public-use: cameras generally used for large population authentication

PrivateID allows a user to easily enroll in one type of camera, and subsequently engage another type of camera for authentication, even on a different application.

Application Interoperability
By leveraging the PrivateID application programming interface (API), developers can design standard iris recognition applications that will accommodate any PrivateID-enabled cameras. Developers need not fear obsolescence and can always take advantage of technology advances and new cameras as they come onto the market. PrivateID-enabled cameras easily snap into existing PrivateID/KnoWho® implementations with minimal need to upgrade.

Proof Positive Certification
Iridian Technologies provides Proof Positive certification services to ensure that all PrivateID-enabled cameras meet strict performance, security and interoperability guidelines. The certification process ratifies that each camera meets:

• 3DES encryption
• PrivateID API support

Licensing to Manufacturers
PrivateID technology is licensed by Iridian Technologies to leading camera manufacturers. As camera manufacturers increase their variety of iris cameras, PrivateID will continue to support the needs of each camera. PrivateID ensures that an image transported to the KnoWho Authentication Server will always provide an iris image or IrisCode® template of sufficient quality and integrity to be compared with a stored IrisCode template.
